Christmas market

When the yearly advent market at Kolvenburg starts in mid-November, we know Christmas time has arrived. For the 40^th time already, regional artists present and sell their self-made products and pieces of art. In the historic ambiance of the castle’s medieval architecture, visitors can admire the exhibitors‘ craftsmanship and inventiveness, and also shop at the marketplace.

The exhibitors present lovingly created Christmas cards, hand-made candles, all kinds of festive decorations and culinary delicacies, as well as artworks made out of stone, wood, concrete, or textiles. Instead of the traditional café in the castle, small stands have been installed outside, offering hot drinks and snacks.

Please note that entry to the castle is only possible with a recent negative Covid-test (taken at most 24 hours before entry) or with proof of vaccination. Please have your test result or proof of immunization, as well as your ID, ready at the entrance to minimize waiting time. Due to the pandemic, we are only allowed to admit 50 people to the castle at the same time. Face masks are mandatory in the building and outside in the waiting lines.

Tuesday – Sunday 10:30 – 18:00

Sunday, 21^st November: 13:00 – 18:00

Kolvenburg Castle is closed on Mondays except for public holidays.

According to the recent Corona regulations, medical face masks are mandatory inside and outside of the castle, and hygiene and distancing rules have to be followed.
